Description | Patricia’s practice focuses on professional regulation and discipline, as well as labour matters, in both the federal and provincial jurisdictions. She has extensive experience providing representation to individuals in the education sector, in particular in assisting those who are facing allegations of misconduct, as well as to workers in the media sector on a wide variety of issues.
Patricia represents individuals before administrative tribunals on professional misconduct and discipline matters, and also acts for unions before boards of arbitration and on labour board matters, including bargaining rights issues, unfair labour practice and duty of fair representation. Patricia has also represented unions on judicial review and injunction applications before both Federal and Ontario courts. Patricia also provides legal advice to unions on matters such as bargaining, strike related issues, discrimination, harassment, disability, and general collective agreement enforcement. She has advised unions on organizing and has conducted organizing workshops with union members. She also provides education and advice on issues of professionalism and professional boundary issues. Patricia has a strong interest in equality and workplace justice, and the ability of labour and employment law to further these objectives. She is presently co-managing partner of the firm, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. |
