Max contributes extensively to continuing legal education through numerous presentations and publications. Recent activities include being contributing editor of the CLE BC Commercial Leasing Annotated Precedents and the Environmental Law chapter of CLE BC Advising BC Businesses, and co-author of Environment: Canada in Practical Law Company Cross-Border Environment Handbook. Max has been project counsel on numerous commercial developments on First Nation lands, including the 550,000 square foot Tsawwassen Commons retail development, Tsawwassen First Nation, 700,000 square foot Eagle Landing centre and retail village, Squiala First Nation reserve, Chilliwack; and 130,000 square foot Okanagan Lake Landing Shopping Centre, Westbank First Nation. Max has extensive experience in phased development of mixed use communities (including Canada Lands Company’s re-development of Canadian Forces Base Chilliwack into the 153 acre Garrison Crossing development and the 43 acres River’s Edge community), business parks [including Tsawwassen Deltaport Logistics Centre (Tsawwassen First Nation), and Glenlyon Business Park (Canada Lands)], as well as the development of strata commercial/residential and build-to-suit premises.
