 I found out about Scott & Down through a lawyer who looks after my business affairs. I needed a real estate lawyer as I was selling my home and buying a new home. I have dealt with many lawyers in the past and my biggest complaint is that they take so long to do things. This was not the case at Scott & Down. They were quick and efficient. I had a few unforseen obstacles that we had to deal with and they also handled them same efficiency. Their costs I find competitive. They are easy to get ahold of and return their messages promptly. I also liked the fact that they were happy to explain the legal jargon in a way that I could easily understand and they made sure that every transaction was in my best interest. I highly recommend this firm.

 I worked with Patrick Sweeney on both the simultaneous sale and purchase of separate properties. If you want to work with the best, I highly recommend having him represent you as your real estate lawyer. He is professional, patient, and thorough in explaining the 80 or so pages I signed, and had clear, succinct explanations for all my questions. I was confident that he was on top of the deals at all times, and he was very detailed in pointing out various nuances and giving sound advice before signing. Compared to working with Feld | Kalia on another transaction which was an absolute nightmare, working with Patrick alleviated a lot of stress in buying and selling. He was reachable, timely with his responses, and offered very competitive rates as well - always a benefit when working with such a seasoned professional. I would highly recommend him.

 I have worked with Scott & Down LLP and more specifically, Dustin Down, more times than I can count. Their professionalism, character, personability and willingness to pick up the phone (even from a high maintenance client like me!) are second to none.  I am not one to write reviews, but I was so impressed with the service that I received from Scott and Down LLP, I felt compelled to share my experience. I was trying to purchase a home in Toronto for about a year. I called on Scott and Down LLP at several points, whether it was to review a Status Certificate or a Pre-Construction Agreement. My requests almost always required a very quick turnaround and each time, the team went out of their way to accommodate and be available by phone or email for any questions that I had. When I finally did purchase, I did not think twice about using them for my closing. The level of service I received throughout this time surpassed my expectations on all counts - professionalism, integrity and communication. This was true of all my interactions, though I would like to say a special thank you to Patrick, whom I worked with the most. It truly was a pleasure working with Scott and Down LLP.
