Description | Lynne is a banker turned lawyer whose extensive experience in both business and complex litigation management has fostered a passion for bringing technology to the legal profession.
In her role as Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer and Senior Counsel for Heuristica, Lynne provides advice on personal information handling, information management and discovery, and empowers her clients to strategically harness information to deliver the very best outcomes. In her previous role as Senior Legal Counsel for a major Canadian financial institution, Lynne led a bank’s global eDiscovery activities. She designed and implemented the bank’s internal eDiscovery capabilities and its worldwide eDiscovery strategy and provided advice on privacy law compliance, information governance and production. Lynne was pivotal in the development of the banks’ records retention policies, email retention standards and its litigation hold protocols. As president of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) for the 2018-19 term, Lynne spearheaded initiatives to advance gender equality, innovation and engagement in the profession – causes she continues to commit to in her role as OBA past-president. During the 2019-2020 term, Lynne is the Chair of the OBA Technology and Innovation Committee, leading this year’s Innovator in Residence initiative and is a member of the Governance Committee for the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). With an M.B.A. in International Business, a J.D. from the University of Alberta, an LL.M. in e-Business Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, and a certificate in Lean Six Sigma from the University of Toronto, Lynne brings a unique perspective to her work – one that connects business principles with legal vision. |
