Ben Leschied

 I've been in the system for 14 years now. I'm so grateful that I was apprehended when I was, I know a lot of the staff there and they're all wonderful people. My parents are not capable of taking care of children so I'm so grateful that I was given the opportunity to live in a stable environment. I'll be it, it was and still is very difficult to accept the fact that my parents cannot raise me, however, with the help of the amazing workers at Durham cas, they have given me many resources to help get through my early childhood trauma. My parents were given many opportunities to improve themselves so that they could have custody of my siblings and I, but they refused every one of them, calling my foster mom (who I consider mom) my worker, and the other staff ugly names and that they were the ones to blame for everything. I'm mildly disappointed that my parents aren't fit to parent, but all in all there's not much I can do about that. I'd rate Durham cas a 5/5. (Also Michelle Graham is the best worker ever :))

 A man named Soroush called me wife. At first we waz a little upset but not at Soroush. We know the man was just doing his job. He came up through to the house. He was polite and professional. He listened to us. We waz asking a lot of questions and the man did a good job of answering them. Talking to a black family about discipline is no walk in the park. Soroush did a good job and impressed us. He remained professional the whole time. He talked to us about signs of safety and gave us resources. God bless the man. He has a unique way of connecting with people. People alwayz talking rubbish about Childrens Aid but sometimes ya need to appreciate the work being done. Thank you Soroush for making a difference.
