 We visited the covenant at open doors. We were warmly welcomed with smiles and maps, then guided to the available tour and prayer hall. We were received by a knowledgeable sister who showed as around the building and explained what life is like in the convent. The time the has been a quiet, thoughtful and reflective time. There is a library and rooms which can be utilised for a variety of purposes. It is highly recommended.

 I just completed my first retreat at the SSJD. The experience was extraordinary yet simple. The sisters were welcoming and kind. The meals were beyond any of my expectations, delicious and very plentiful. The library held surprises with titles I was thrilled to discover, including an out of print copy of a classic, Making Ukrainian Easter Eggs ( wacky but just what I needed).The labyrinth was a wonderful active meditation that took me places I was surprised & delighted to discover.The Retreat was led by Margaret Silf on the intriguing topic, Born to Fly, the story of the caterpillar’s metamorphoses. Lots of food from the soul. Thank you dear sisters for a truly comforting experience. Thank you Sister Susan for the extra care and kindness you offered me to comfort me in my grief. Peace be with you all!
