Description | Called to bar: July 20, 1979 – Saskatchewan. Law School University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon campus, April 1978 – degree L.L.B. From October 1979 to February 1981 Lee was employed as a city prosecutor by the City of Saskatoon, conducting summary conviction criminal offense trials. In 1981 Lee established her own law firm, as a sole practitioner in Lanigan, Saskatchewan. Wills and Estates, real estate, administrative, matrimonial and criminal law, formed the base of that practice. In January 1986 Lee became a partner in Mountain & Mountain Law Firm in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, doing the majority of the criminal, and matrimonial work for the office. Lee has a federal appointment as a standing agent for drug prosecutions, Income Tax Act prosecutions and other federal statutes, excluding Criminal Code, for four R.C.M.P. detachments. Law Society – Department of Justice Land Titles Liaison Committee In 2000 the provincial Law Society requested that regional bar associations appoint lawyers practising extensively in the real estate area as volunteers to sit on an advisory committee to meet with the provincial department of Justice to discuss computerizing the existing paper based Land Titles system. Lee served as the committee member appointed by the Moose Jaw, Assiniboia, Gravelbourg Bar Association. This committee sat for 2 years and met regularly with the Department of Justice to make recommendations. ISC – Land Expert From September 11th, 2001 to March 2003 Lee held a temporary contract with ISC to conduct training courses all around the province of Saskatchewan to teach lawyers how to use the new computerized Land SystemLaw Society ISC Liaison Committee Chair In June of 2001 the Land Titles system in Saskatchewan went online. Lawyers across the province experienced difficulties with the new system. In June of 2003 the Law Society of Saskatchewan formed a committee to meet with ISC representatives to recommend changes to improve the new ISC system. Lee Mountain was appointed chair of the committee for the Law Society members. This committee met monthly with ISC staff until November of 2006. Ongoing problems with the ISC system were channeled through this committee. Significant improvements were made at ISC as a result of the input from this committee. |
